Director of Recruiting
JOB SUMMARY
Kutak Rock LLP seeks a Director of Recruiting to join its national Human Resource team. This role be responsible for developing and implementing talent acquisition strategies that support the overall business objectives of the Firm. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, a strong background in legal recruiting, and a passion for developing high-performing teams in a collegial and collaborative environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establish and implement human resources strategy that supports the Firm’s mission and strategic vision in the area of legal and professional staff recruiting
- Function as a strategic business advisor to stakeholders regarding key issues and best practices in the areas of legal and staff recruiting
- Create and implement strategies to strengthen the Firm's recruitment brand and market presence
- Design and drive the Firm’s attorney and business professional recruiting strategy across all offices and levels, aligned with practice area and administrative needs
- Develop and supervise the recruiting team, which is responsible for execution, coordination, and hiring logistics
- Provide leadership and vision in the development of firm-wide attorney recruiting strategies, both long- and short-term, working closely with practice group leaders, firm leadership, and other key stakeholders to identify organizational needs and support successful integration of new attorneys
- Drive end-to-end lateral associate and partner recruiting processes from initial identification through offer, onboarding, and integration phases; develop strategies for sourcing, attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent
- Ensure strong relationships with law schools, legal recruiters, staff recruiters and industry experts
- Analyze legal market trends, peer firm practices, and compensation data to anticipate hiring needs and keep the Firm competitive
- Evaluate and establish tools for measuring the success of all recruitment efforts and implement strategic improvements
- Manage and analyze recruitment metrics, workforce initiatives, and retention strategies through maximization of the use of the Firm’s applicant tracking system
- Build and maintain strong relationships with attorneys and professional staff across the firm's footprint
- Organize training and guidance in effective and appropriate recruiting and interviewing skills for hiring panels
- Oversee all recruiting vendor agreements such as recruiting contracts and job advertising services
- Ensure adherence to Firm policies and legal regulations in all recruitment activities
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development through facilitating training and certification activities for recruiting staff
- Performs other duties as required

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization HRIS systems
- Willingness and ability to travel as needed (15-20%)
QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- 7+ years of legal talent acquisition/recruiting experience with 3+ years in managing law firm talent acquisition teams required
- Human Resources Certification such as PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/ SHRM-SCP preferred
Position Information
Status: Exempt
Salary Range: $155,000-$200,000 base salary per year, commensurate with education and experience
Work Arrangement: Hybrid 3:2 in of the following firm offices: Atlanta, GA; Denver, CO; Fayetteville, AR; Irvine, CA; Little Rock, AR; Los Angeles, CA; Kansas City, MO; Minneapolis, MN; Omaha, NE; Philadelphia, PA; Richmond, VA; Scottsdale, AZ; Spokane, WA; Springfield, MO; Tallahassee, FL; or Washington, DC.
