Associate Governmental Program Analyst

Under direction of a Staff Services Manager I (SSMI), the Associate Governmental Program Analyst (AGPA) independently conducts inspections of beverage dealers and recyclers to enforce and ensure compliance with the California Beverage Container Recycling and Litter Reduction Act (Act), and related regulations. The AGPA will conduct anonymous test sales, signage compliance, shelf surveys, and other operational compliance.  The AGPA is responsible for the investigation and resolution of complaints, assisting the convenience zone section with verifying locations, and verifying operational status of beverage distributors. In addition, the AGPA will work with other units and agencies as needed. 

 

The incumbent will travel to program participant sites to perform anonymous inspections on recycling, pilot, beverage manufacturers and dealer sites to ensure they are operating under the regulations and act. Travel up to 80% staff time is required to perform field surveys and data collection. Travel will include extended periods (typically 4-5 days at a time) requiring overnight accommodation and weekend assignments leading to adjustment of the employee's work schedule.

 

The incumbent must have a current California Driver’s License and participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Employer Pull Notice Program.
