IT Audit Associate - Temp-to-Perm - San Jose or San Francisco
As an Information Technology Audit Associate you'll be an essential member of our team, helping us partner with a diverse range of clients—from high-tech startups to established market leaders in and around Silicon Valley. You'll focus on technology-based compliance engagements, working on projects that include System and Organization Controls (SOC) reporting (SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3), ISO 27001, ISO 27701, and in the future, ISO 42001. We view our role as not just auditors but as advisors, helping clients build stronger security and compliance postures.
This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level candidate with an interest in technology compliance to build and expand their skills. We are looking for a self-starter with a proactive approach who will thrive in a demanding, client-facing environment. You'll have the chance to work with various clients, gradually taking on more complex assignments and responsibilities to grow.

Our senior management works closely with each associate to facilitate learning and career growth, ensuring you have the support needed to succeed. This position is based out of the Bay Area. You will be expected to work in our San Francisco or San Jose office three days per week.
This is a temporary-to-permanent position. This role will begin as a temporary arrangement lasting approximately three months, with potential to transition immediately to a permanent role. The initial temporary period can be part-time or full-time pending your scheduling needs, especially if you are finishing up school. Our hope is to identify a high-performing hire who demonstrates a commitment to pursuing this career path, leading to a long-term, permanent arrangement.
Responsibilities:
- Test technology-related controls to assess their effectiveness and identify any exceptions or control gaps
- Participate in internal control audits by assisting with planning, testing, reporting, and project administration
- Learn and apply knowledge of clients' technical platforms, operations, processes, and control environments to your projects
- Work with the engagement team to develop and communicate recommendations for process improvements
- Contribute to a positive work environment by building strong relationships with team members
- Proactively seek guidance, clarification, and feedback to support your learning and development
- Manage deadlines effectively, understanding that additional hours may be required to complete work during peak periods
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 24 semester or 36 quarter units of post-secondary courses with a focus on Technology Audit, Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, or Cybersecurity. These units can be from a Bachelor's, Master's, or an accredited diploma or certificate program.
- 0-2 years of experience
- Minimum GPA of 3.2 preferred
- A commitment to passing the CISA exam
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and written/oral communication skills
