What you’ll be doing

As a Direct Support Professional, you will support adults with disabilities in building independence and participating fully in their communities.

In this role, you will:

Support individuals with daily activities, personal goals, and life skills

Encourage independence, dignity, and community inclusion

Build positive relationships with individuals, families, caregivers, and community partners

Plan meaningful and engaging activities based on each person’s goals and interests

Help individuals connect with their communities through work, volunteer, and social opportunities

Follow health and safety practices to provide high-quality support

Complete documentation using basic mobile and computer systems

This is a community-based role and includes regular driving between locations.

 

Qualifications

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who is compassionate, dependable, and ready to make a positive impact.

 

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance

Must be 21 years of age or older

Must pass a background check

 

Experience
Previous experience in caregiving, social work, life skills coaching, education, or volunteering is a plus, but not required.

 

Skills

Empathy, patience, and respect for adults with disabilities

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Flexibility and adaptability to meet individual needs

Basic tech skills, including mobile phone use, email, Microsoft programs, and electronic documentation systems
