Position: Economic Development Program Specialist I/II
The City of San Leandro is recruiting for the position of Economic Development Program Specialist I/II in the Community Development Department. This role is a great opportunity to support local businesses, strengthen community partnerships, and help shape the City’s economic future. The selected candidate will work closely with businesses, developers, community organizations, and City staff on programs and initiatives focused on business retention, revitalization, and economic growth throughout San Leandro. Responsibilities include supporting economic development projects and programs, conducting research and outreach, preparing reports and presentations, assisting local businesses, and helping implement strategies that encourage investment and community development. Candidates with strong communication skills, creativity, and a passion for community and economic development are encouraged to apply. Bilingual skills in Cantonese or Spanish are highly desirable.
Education and Experience Guidelines: Any combination of experience and education that would most likely provide the required knowledge and abilities would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in public or business administration, economics, urban planning, community development, or a related field, and one (1) year of experience supporting economic or community development programs for the Economic Development Program Specialist I level. For the Economic Development Program Specialist II level, candidates should possess two (2) years of increasingly responsible economic or community development experience equivalent to the City’s Economic Development Program Specialist I classification.
Salary Range: $8,994.00 – $12,353.00 Monthly
