About the Opportunity

 

This position is limited to 1,000 hours per fiscal year, averaging approximately 20 hours per week. Work schedules are based on business needs and candidate availability. As part of supporting the City Clerk's Office, the Intern will assist with preparation and setup for City Council meetings held on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday evenings of each month, in addition to occasional weekend events and community activities. The Intern will support the Administrative Services Department, assisting both the City Manager's Office and City Clerk's Office. Under close supervision, the Intern will perform a variety of administrative, analytical, and project-based assignments while gaining valuable exposure to municipal government operations.

 

Typical Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting with administrative tasks and special projects
  • Conducting research, compiling data, and preparing reports
  • Drafting correspondence, policies, procedures, and other written materials
  • Supporting City meetings, public outreach efforts, and departmental initiatives
  • Responding to requests for information and assisting with day-to-day office operations

 

Qualifications

 

Education

Current enrollment in, or recent graduation from, an accredited college or university.

Preferred fields of study include:

  • Public Administration
  • Business Administration
  • Communications
  • Political Science
  • Public Policy
