Product Designer Intern

About the role

We're looking for a Product Designer Intern to help shape the experience of a product used by developers every day. You'll work directly with our product, engineering, and design team on real features that ship — not throwaway intern projects. It's a hands-on role for someone early in their design career who wants to learn fast, own meaningful work, and design for a technical audience.

What you'll do

• Design flows, interfaces, and prototypes for features across our web app, IDE, and CLI experiences
• Turn ambiguous problems into clear, intuitive designs — from early sketches to polished, build-ready specs in Figma
• Contribute to and help maintain our design system for consistency and speed
• Partner with engineers to see your designs through to launch, iterating on real feedback
• Participate in user research and use what you learn to sharpen the product
• Give and receive design critique as part of a collaborative team

What we're looking for

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in design (or a related field), a bootcamp, or an equivalent self-directed path — what matters most is the work
• A portfolio that shows strong product thinking, interaction design, and visual craft
• Proficiency in Figma and a solid grasp of design fundamentals (hierarchy, layout, typography)
• Clear communicator who can explain the reasoning behind design decisions
• Curious, self-directed, and comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration

Nice to have

• Interest in (or experience designing for) developer tools or technical products
• Familiarity with design systems
• Basic understanding of how products get built (HTML/CSS or working closely with engineers)
• Prototyping or motion skills
