Startup Generalist
Looking for a Startup Generalist aka Office Manager, Administrative Assistant, Startup Operations, Project Manager. Ideally 2-4 years out of college. This is a 5-day in person role in SF or NY. We need people who have drive, hunger, grit, work ethic. This is not a 9-5 job, there will be late nights.
Some responsibilities include:
CEO Calendar
- Own and manage the CEO’s calendar, protecting focus time, reducing context switching, and creating effective working rhythms.
- Structure the CEO’s week around fundraising, recruiting, technical coordination, strategy, and deep work.
- Manage inbox and email workflows: triage requests, flag priorities, draft responses, and ensure follow-ups do not fall through the cracks.
- Manage incoming and outgoing phone calls, ensuring messages and requests are handled promptly and routed appropriately.
- Prepare concise daily or weekly briefings so the CEO knows what needs attention, what is coming up, and where decisions are needed.
- Coordinate internal and external meetings from scheduling and preparation through follow-up and logistics.
- Coordinate schedule-related personal appointments when they need to fit around the CEO’s work calendar.
- Anticipate needs and remove friction before issues become urgent.
Office and Team Operations
- Run day-to-day office logistics for a small, fast-moving team.
- Own workplace needs including supplies, packages, snacks, lunches, vendors, and general office upkeep.
- Support the upcoming office move and help create a clean, functional, high-energy environment.
- Plan team lunches, events, offsites, and other moments that help the team stay connected.
- Coordinate travel and accommodations for company onsites and offsites, with clear communication and thoughtful logistics.
- Provide calendar support to other team members when needed.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding logistics, including equipment, system access, scheduling, and cross-functional communication.
- Partner with the operations lead and broader team to build lightweight internal processes as the company grows.
- Support recruiting coordination, including candidate scheduling and interview logistics.

- Have 1–3+ years of relevant experience in executive support, office management, operations, hospitality, customer service, recruiting coordination, or startup support.
- Take full ownership and follow through without waiting to be told every next step.
- Exercise excellent judgment with calendars, inboxes, communication, and confidential information.
- Are highly detail-oriented while still seeing the bigger picture.
- Stay steady when priorities change quickly and the playbook has not been written yet.
- Bring low ego, high trust, strong discretion, and a genuine service orientation.
- Enjoy making busy people and teams more effective.
- Are excited by AI, neuroscience, brain-computer interfaces, or other frontier technologies.
- Are willing and able to work from our San Francisco office five days per week.
