Part-Time After School LEGO Robotics Instructor

Location: Oakland, 94610 

Program: LEGO Spike Essential

For: K-5 grade levels

Schedule: August 26 - May 13, Wednesdays 3:45 - 4:45 PM

Type: In-person, Part-time

Pay: $20-$35/hr, depending on experience

Whizara is looking for a LEGO Robotics Instructor to lead hands-on afterschool classes for students. Students will build, program, test, and modify LEGO robots while learning basic robotics, engineering, coding, and problem-solving skills.

 

No need to create your own curriculum. Whizara provides lesson plans, project materials, and activity guidance, so you can focus on teaching and working with students.

 

✨ What You'll Do

  • Lead hands-on LEGO Robotics classes for students.
  • Guide students through building, programming, testing, and modifying robots.
  • Introduce basic robotics, engineering, coding, and problem-solving concepts.
  • Lead robotics challenges, projects, and group activities.
  • Help students understand how motors, sensors, gears, and programming work together.
  • Encourage teamwork, creativity, experimentation, and critical thinking.
  • Adjust instruction for different skill levels and learning needs.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and positive classroom environment.
  • Monitor participation and provide students with guidance and feedback.
  • Communicate with Whizara staff and school personnel as needed.

  • Interest or experience in robotics, engineering, coding, technology, or STEM.
  • Comfortable working with and leading groups of children.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts in a simple, age-appropriate way.
  • Reliable, organized, patient, and professional.
  • Comfortable leading hands-on activities and projects.

 

A Plus, But Not Required:

  • Experience with LEGO Robotics or other robotics kits.
  • Experience with coding platforms or programming.
  • Teaching, tutoring, coaching, camp, or youth program experience.
  • Robotics club, maker, or STEM education experience.
  • Background or coursework in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Education, or a related field.
