Behavior Technician

The Behavior Technician works to facilitate educational and behavioral services with children and adults with special needs and collaborates with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals and objectives.

 

  • Follow any behavior plan documents or training materials provided
    If no documents are provided rely on your training and experience to make rational decisions to prevent and diffuse maladaptive behavior.
    Intervene and use MCPT strategies when necessary.
    Stay with the student and provide assistance throughout the behavior.
    Establish and maintain safety for yourself, your students, and coworkers.
    Implement curriculum provided to you by the teacher.
    Run Discrete Trial Training, Naturalistic Teaching, Task Analysis, or Functional Communication Systems such as PECS, AAC Devices, or verbal manding procedures.
    Data collection: ABC, Frequency, TA, DTT, etc.
    Run small group or large group teaching stations or lessons.
    Implement reinforcement systems and visual supports provided.
    Provide prompting and assistance on work assignments.
    Conduct any teaching exercise the teacher provides instruction on.

 

Requirements: 

  • 1 year exp is preferred but not required
  • Must have HS diploma
  • Must be atleast 18 years old
  • No certifications required
