The Peer Educator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day management and activities of a substance abuse prevention program. The Peer Educator will facilitate coping skills/ prevention classes for elementary to high school students and provide additional support to sustain programs.

Coping skills/Prevention Facilitator 

  • Teach coping, refusal, and prevention skills to all students 
  • Administer pre/post surveys to students 
  • Work with the youth group to disseminate the successes of the program 
  • Outreach to school administrators to expand the program
  • Communicate effectively with community members from multicultural and disadvantaged backgrounds. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. 

Community Relations/ Administrative 

  • Promote programs, activities, and events through social media, community outreach, and other marketing strategies.  
  • Represent the organization at school and community events, meetings, resource fairs, and tabling opportunities.  
  • Build positive relationships with youth, families, schools, and community partners while engaging diverse communities in a respectful and culturally responsive manner.  
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
