Pay: $25–$40/hour, based on experience

Have you built with LEGO before and enjoyed it? Do you like creating things, figuring out how pieces fit together, or helping others build?

We are looking for a friendly, creative, and enthusiastic LEGO Robotics Instructor to lead an engaging after-school program for young learners.

Students will learn through hands-on LEGO building, exploring simple machines, movement, problem-solving, and basic robotics concepts. Most importantly, they'll have the opportunity to build, experiment, make mistakes, try again, and create something they can be proud of.

You do not need to be a robotics expert, engineer, or professional LEGO builder. If you have used LEGO before, enjoy building, and are comfortable helping children learn through hands-on activities, we encourage you to apply.

Curriculum guidance and instructional materials are provided, so you don't need to create your own lessons.

What You'll Do

  • Lead fun, hands-on LEGO building and robotics activities
  • Guide students as they build different LEGO creations
  • Follow provided activities and help students understand what they're building
  • Demonstrate simple building techniques
  • Help students experiment with movement, structures, and basic robotics concepts
  • Encourage students to try different ideas and approaches
  • Help students troubleshoot when a build doesn't work as expected
  • Encourage students to test, modify, and improve their creations
  • Keep young learners engaged, curious, and excited about building
  • Create a positive and supportive environment
  • Encourage teamwork, sharing, and collaboration
  • Help students who need additional guidance during activities
  • Explain instructions in a simple and age-appropriate way
  • Help students safely use and organize LEGO pieces and materials
  • Follow the provided curriculum and instructional materials

You don't need a specific degree, professional background, or robotics certification.

We're primarily looking for someone who:

  • Has used LEGO before and is comfortable building with it
  • Enjoys building, creating, and figuring things out
  • Is comfortable learning and following LEGO-based activities
  • Enjoys working with young children
  • Is patient, friendly, energetic, and encouraging
  • Can explain simple ideas clearly
  • Is comfortable guiding a small group of students
  • Is reliable and professional
  • Prior teaching experience is helpful, but not required
