Entry-Level Test Technician

An internet security device manufacture is seeking an Entry-Level Test Technician to join their team in Fremont, CA. This is contract to hire position.

In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience working with customer-returned products in a technical testing and repair environment. This is a great opportunity for an early-career candidate or recent graduate interested in developing their skills in hardware troubleshooting, testing, and repair.

• Work with customer-returned products for testing, repair, troubleshooting, and other activities supporting the RMA repair team.
• Handle and evaluate customer-returned products.
• Perform troubleshooting and help resolve hardware and software issues.
• Assemble and disassemble systems for testing and repair purposes.
• Apply hardware troubleshooting skills; experience with circuit board soldering and reading schematics is preferred.
• Perform software and hardware rework according to established instructions.
• Modify test scripts based on specification changes.
• Prepare technical reports summarizing test results, findings, and potential solutions to technical issues.
• Document test results and clearly summarize problems and findings in writing.

Qualifications

• Responsible, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and develop new technical skills.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with testing and/or repairing hardware is preferred.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Robot, VB, or Perl is a plus.
• Experience working with Linux systems is preferred.
• Degree or currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Computer Engineering (CE), Computer Science (CS), or a related technical field. EE/CE background preferred.
• Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
