ABOUT MADEBYNPS
MadeByNPS is a small startup creative studio in the Bay Area — a space where ambition turns into art. We help brands, creatives, and entrepreneurs show up confidently with authentic imagery, branding, and content.
We're expanding our visual team to include a skilled Bay Area photographer and videographer who can capture commercial shoots, interviews, reels, and events in a way that feels cinematic, grounded, and transformative.
Please do not apply if you cannot travel within the San Francisco Bay Area. This role requires travel across the Bay Area.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
An experienced and well-equipped photographer / cinematographer and editor hybrid with strong storytelling instincts, technical know-how, and a collaborative spirit. You know how to light a scene, record clean audio, and edit with emotion. You're not just capturing content — you're helping shape stories that resonate.
Bonus: you're a natural teacher who enjoys empowering others with your knowledge.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Photography and cinematography
• Capture high-quality photo and video content for branded campaigns, interviews, behind-the-scenes, events, and reels
• Create intentional lighting setups for indoor and outdoor shoots
• Record clean, clear audio — especially for interviews and reels
• Transport and manage your own gear: camera, lighting, audio
• Shoot both stills and motion on the same day and switch between them easily
Editing and delivery
• Edit with pacing and emotion, not just assembly
• Cut vertical short-form for Instagram and TikTok from the same footage
• Colour and retouch to a consistent standard across a campaign
• Deliver on the agreed turnaround, files named and backed up our way
Working with the NPS team
• Collaborate with the NPS team on creative direction ahead of a shoot
• Share what you know — we like people who lift the team's skill level
REQUIREMENTS
• Proven photo and video work — a reel and a portfolio
• Own reliable camera, lighting and audio gear
• Confident in Premiere, Final Cut or DaVinci, plus Lightroom or Capture One
• Able to travel throughout the San Francisco Bay Area
• Reliable, communicative, deadline-driven
• Available some evenings and weekends for events
NICE-TO-HAVES
• Gimbal and drone work, Part 107 certified
• Studio and multi-cam or podcast experience
• Experience with creator economy or lifestyle brands
• Comfortable directing non-professional talent on camera
