Preschool Teacher's Aid
Meadowlark Preschool is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Education Teacher's Aid to join our play-based learning community. Located in Alamo, our program is built around fostering curiosity, independence, and confidence in every child, and we are looking for someone who shares that same spirit of discovery.
Schedule: 2-5 days per week, beginning January through June 2027 (specific days and hours to be determined)
Compensation: $18-20/hour
About the Role
As a Teacher's Aid, you will work alongside our lead teachers in the classroom, supporting daily activities that encourage children to explore, create, and problem-solve at their own pace. You will gain hands-on experience implementing play-based curriculum, observing child development in real time, and building the practical skills that complement your academic coursework.
Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers with classroom activities, centers, and outdoor play
- Support children's social-emotional growth through positive, responsive interactions
- Help set up and clean up age-appropriate learning environments and play stations
- Observe and document children's development and milestones
- Participate in circle time, storytelling, art, and sensory play activities
- Model patience, warmth, and encouragement in all interactions with children
Educational Requirements
- Must be concurrently enrolled in a minimum of 2 units of Early Childhood Education credits at an accredited institution
- A total of 6 units of ECE credits are required to become a fully qualified Teacher’s Aid
