UX Motion Designer

UX Motion Designer (Contract/Fellowship – Remote or California)
Bring Motion to Life in Designs Used by Millions

About Us:

At TruU, we’re redefining how people authenticate — replacing passwords with beautiful, secure, and seamless experiences. Our platform enables passwordless sign-ins, insider threat detection, and continuous authentication for employees at some of the world’s largest Fortune 500 companies.

Every day, our designs are seen and used across Windows, Mac, iOS, Android, and the web. From lock screens to login flows, we believe the motion is part of the message — and we’re looking for someone who can help bring life to the little details.

About the Role:

We’re hiring a UX Motion Designer to elevate the micro-interactions and animations across our product suite. This is a 3–6 month paid fellowship or contract (Remote or in California), where you’ll work directly with our design and product teams to craft motion that feels intentional, intuitive, and satisfying.

You’ll be responsible for designing animations that improve usability, convey state changes, and add a sense of tactility to our interfaces. While experience across all platforms is welcome, we’re especially interested in designers with a strong understanding of Windows and Microsoft Fluent UI principles.

This isn’t animation for animation’s sake — it’s about designing motion that supports clarity, reduces friction, and makes every interaction feel just right.

What You’ll Do:

  • Design meaningful motion for microinteractions across desktop, mobile, and web platforms
  • Work across platform-specific systems (especially Windows) to ensure consistency and technical feasibility
  • Collaborate with our product designers, engineers, and PMs to bring interfaces to life
  • Explore, prototype, and iterate on new transitions, feedback states, animations, and flows
  • Deliver motion specs, Lottie files, AE exports, or other appropriate assets to development
  • Help shape a motion language for TruU that can scale across our ecosystem

Who You Are:

  • You’ve got strong motion design experience, especially as it relates to UI and microinteractions
  • You have a great eye for detail and understand the purpose behind each animation
  • You’re fluent in After Effects, Principle, Figma prototyping, or equivalent tools
  • You’re excited to solve UX problems through motion, not just visual polish
  • You’re deeply familiar with platform guidelines, especially for Windows (Fluent UI)
  • Experience with Lottie, Rive, Bodymovin, or prototyping in code

Why You Should Apply:

  • Impact at scale: Your animations will be seen by employees at global enterprises
  • Creative ownership: You’ll help define the motion language of our core product
  • Small team, big influence: Work closely with product and engineering in a fast-moving environment
  • Future potential: Outstanding contributors may be considered for full-time roles

How to Apply:

  • Send your portfolio with motion examples, resume, and (optional) a short note on your favorite motion design detail in a digital product
  • If available, include examples of cross-platform motion work — especially on Windows
  • Email submissions to rmamtora@truu.ai with subject line "UX Motion Designer – Application"
