Location: Martinez, CA

Department: Office of the Sheriff

Pay: $83,407.68 - $91,957.01 Annually

Schedule: shift-based, including weekends/holidays

 

The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff is recruiting for Dispatcher I positions at

our 24/7 state-of-the-art dispatch center. As the County’s largest law enforcement

agency, we serve over 1 million residents and support patrol units, fire, EMS, and

emergency services.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for emergency and non-emergency calls
  • Dispatch law enforcement and emergency personnel using radio/data systems
  • Maintain calm and professionalism in high-pressure situations
  • Support public safety with accuracy, speed, and ethical decision-making

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid CA Driver’s License (out-of-state accepted during the process)
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Type at least 40 words per minute
  • Must pass background, medical, and psychological screening
